The dinner is being organized by the Federation of European Film Directors (FERA), in collaboration with the European Women’s Audiovisual Network (http://www.ewawomen.com/) and the Society of Audiovisual Authors (http://www.saa-authors.eu/), in partnership with the LUX Prize, which will be awarded the following day at the European Parliament. The subject of dinner discussions will be the challenge of building a sustainable career for female directors in the European film industry and strategies to improve this.

The guest speaker is Ms Benja Stig-Fagerland, author of the recently published “SHEconomy – it’s your business”. Dinner speakers will include Mr Julio Talavera, Analyst from the European Audiovisual Observatory, Ms Isabel Castro, Deputy Executive Director of Eurimages, Ms Beryl Richards, Director and Chair of the Women’s Committee for Directors UK and Lou Jeunet, Director and Board member of 25 Images, France. Several film directors will also be attending, including the Lux Prize finalists Clio Barnard, Valeria Golino and Felix van Groeningen.
