FERA Directors in Dialogue at Directors’ Fortnight

The next “FERA Directors in Dialogue” will take place on Thursday 13 May at 16:00 at the Théâtre Croisette (Palais Stéphanie) in Cannes.
On the opening night of the 42nd Directors’ Fortnight edition, SRF – the French Society of Film Directors – will host the “FERA Directors in Dialogue” between Agnes Varda and the American director Frederick Wiseman.
The event follows the screening of 1969 Varda’s film Lions Love… (And Lies) and the annual “Carrosse d’Or” award ceremony which this year goes to Agnes Varda. The “Carrosse d’Or” is a tribute paid by the directors of SRF to a fellow filmmaker for his/her innovative qualities, courage and independent spirit of his/ her work.
“FERA Directors in Dialogue” is a a new and original tool to promote cultural exchanges and intercultural dialogue among film directors in order to foster creativity and reflection on the specificities and challenges of the European cinema sector.
Previous editions of the “FERA Directors in Dialogue” were held in Ireland, Cannes and Copenhagen.
